The SANS CyberTalent Immersion Academy is an intensive, accelerated training program that provides SANS world class training and GIAC certifications to quickly and effectively launch careers in cybersecurity.
There are two types of SANS Immersion Academies: Customized and Open. Our Customized Immersion Academies include our popular VetSuccess program. The Customized Academy allows employers or sponsors to choose the curriculum that best meets the needs of their organization.
The Immersion Academy Core Curricula offers a two or three course option:
Two Course
- SEC401: SANS Security Essentials Boot Camp Style
- SEC504: Hacker Techniques, Exploits & Incident Handling
Three Course
- SEC401: SANS Security Essentials Boot Camp Style
- SEC504: Hacker Techniques, Exploits & Incident Handling
Third course chosen from electives generally includes:
- FOR500 Windows Forensic Analysis
- SEC501: Advanced Security Essentials – Enterprise Defender
- SEC503 Intrusion Detection In-Depth
- SEC542 Web App Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking
- SEC560 Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking

For transitioning service members and qualified candidates, the Academy provides advanced technical training, industry-recognized certifications, and connections to leading employers in cybersecurity. For employers, it’s a faster, more reliable, and less expensive way to find, train, certify, and employ highly qualified cybersecurity talent.
Qualified candidates of the program receive a full scholarship for the training and certification in their cohort. Academy details can be found on the Current Academies page.
