In 2017, CyberTECH and Cleantech San Diego were proud to be selected by US Ignite as the innovation partners for the City of San Diego’s Smart Gigabit Community Program. This program aims to enhance San Diego’s innovation ecosystem by accelerating the development and deployment of next-generation gigabit applications and services that run on advanced networks.
So far, over 100 open-source applications have been developed in the participating cities. One way that cities have successfully supported the development of these new applications is through a reverse pitch hackathon. In this format, teams participate in a program that extends much longer than a typical weekend hackathon.
