The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification – Overview and Latest Developments
“Due to the proliferation of intellectual property that has resulted in the loss of trillions of dollars, the Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal Agencies is focusing its attention concerning the safeguard of sensitive but unclassified information that resides on industry’s networks and systems.”
“Several training sessions will be conducted starting 13 May 2020 to discuss the migration from current security requirements per NIST SP 800-171 to the new CMMC process.”
“These training sessions will enable the acquisition workforce to successfully implement and execute the DFARS Clause 252.204-7012 on current and future procurements.”
Speakers:
Christopher Newborn, a member of Department of Defense’s (DoD) Acquisition and Cybersecurity Workforce, was appointed as a Professor of Information Technology (Cybersecurity Emphasis) at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) in August 2015. Mr. Newborn duties include developing curriculum, teaching, and consulting members of the Acquisition and Cybersecurity Workforce who are responsible for acquiring, deploying, and maintaining cybersecurity capabilities and defending DoD’s networks, systems, and data.
