The Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE) is a public-private partnership dedicated to accelerating the regional economy by promoting alignment and collaboration within the cyber community. The CCOE takes advantage of the unique concentration of cyber resources in the San Diego area including more than 100 cyber-businesses, experts from the military/government sector, and university-based research centers, in a strategic and coordinated effort to make San Diego a hub for cyber capabilities. These are becoming a critical priority as data breaches are a mounting concern in the Internet-driven innovation economy, and will become even more critical in the evolving “Internet of Things” as devices we rely on for everyday life become Internet-connected. Working together to build programs that promote cyber best practices among the key economic pillars of our community, and by promoting talent acquisition, retention and development, the CCOE aims to make San Diego a magnet for an industry that already supports 13,000 jobs and pumps $1.5 billion into the San Diego area.
