SUMMARY:NICE Conference CCOE Panel: Increasing Diversity and Inclusivity in the Cyber Talent Pipeline
DESCRIPTION:With a national shortage of more than 500\,000 cybersecurity unfilled jobs in the U.S.\, several San Diego partners including Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE)\, National Foundation for Autism Research (NFAR)\, San Diego Regional EDC\, and San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP) have joined forces to seed and diversify the talent pipeline for this critical industry through two key programs – CyberHire and NFAR Cyber. NFAR Cyber is specifically designed to train San Diegans with autism to work in entry-level cybersecurity roles; a field to which many with autism are well suited\, and exactly the type of workforce development program needed both regionally and nationally. CyberHire is a program designed to address the growing demand for cybersecurity talent and connect job seekers to secure meaningful careers\, particularly in under-represented communities. This session will delve into these successful programs and highlight “out-of-the-box” ideas to address the workforce gap in neurodiverse and under-served communities. \nPresenters: \nMadison Dingsdale\, Program Specialist\, San Diego Workforce Partnership \nJuan Leon\, Founder and Board President\, National Foundation for Autism Research

Haiku is a cybersecurity training platform that focuses on helping aspiring and current cybersecurity professionals practice critical skills development and prepare for real world situations. Journeys Map is a “Google map” for cyber certification training and career pathways where the user can zoom in for jobs\, education\, resources and more. Cal Poly SLO’s Digital Transformation Hub (DxHub) is an innovation engine solving real world challenges in the public sector. We’ll explore each of these tools and how industry can use new technologies for the cyber workforce of the future that also complement traditional career pathways. \nPresenters: \nEric Basu\, Founder and Chief Executive Officer\, Haiku Inc. \nDustin DeBrum\, Operations Director\, California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) \nJudy Steingass\, Director of Customer Experience\, Journeys Map

SUMMARY:Cooley Presents: CPRA and US State Privacy Laws: A Mid-Year Update on the Regulations and Compliance Approaches
DESCRIPTION:While the California Privacy Rights Act and other US state privacy laws are coming online in 2023\, the regulatory landscape and approaches to compliance remain a moving target. During this presentation led by Cooley partner David Navetta\, the Cooley c/d/p team will take stock of the current regulations (and drafts thereof) and address the “market” approaches for tackling some of the trickier compliance challenges related to these laws. We’ll focus on “how to” practical advice to help participants take the next step in their compliance journey. CLE Credit Attendees may earn up to 1.0 CLE credit for each session by participating in the live webinar. Credit will not be granted for on-demand viewing.
