SUMMARY:NSIN MAD HACKS: Fury Code (DoD Vehicle Cybersecurity Hackathon)
DESCRIPTION:Explore solutions for the future of vehicle and drone cybersecurity.\n\nAre you interested in producing cutting edge\, novel solutions to the most complex problems in the Department of Defense? Do you want the chance to prototype your idea alongside top scientists\, developers\, and end-users? Or help advance the San Diego cyber security ecosystem\, it’s university students and it’s companies?\n\nStarting February 5\, 2021\, NSIN will launch a virtual Mad Hacks: Fury Code hackathon to help DoD end users find solutions to some of the hardest vehicle/drone cybersecurity problems. Participants in this hackathon will compete for up to $70K in awards to continue developing their solutions alongside a team of experts and end-users. Many NSIN Hackathon winners have gone on to win much larger awards post Hackathon as well.\n\nNSIN Mad Hacks is open to anyone who is creative and interested in solving DoD problems. Anyone is welcome to compete\, and you don’t have to be a coder or cybersecurity wizard to succeed. NSIN has had designers\, political scientists\, and business-minded people win our previous hackathons.

DESCRIPTION:CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF PLANNING AND RESEARCH: CADENCE PROGRAM\nNextFlex\, America’s Flexible Hybrid Electronics (FHE) Manufacturing Innovation Institute\, has received a $600\,000 grant from the California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) to support California’s defense innovation and manufacturing ecosystem through small business development. \nWith the grant funds\, NextFlex will support small businesses in the California defense industrial base by providing access to leading edge FHE design\, prototyping\, and low-volume additive manufacturing services through its Technology Hub in San Jose. \nNextFlex will be authorized to recruit and vet projects related to FHE\, additive electronics manufacturing and advanced packaging for small companies that need help with design\, prototyping\, low volume manufacturing and testing/characterization of defense-oriented devices and systems. \nQualified small businesses can apply for funding to convert existing product designs to flexible ones\, or to develop an entirely new flexible electronic device. \nIf you or anyone you know is employed by a small defense business in California\, you can apply for funds!
