SUMMARY:NICE Conference CCOE Panel: Increasing Diversity and Inclusivity in the Cyber Talent Pipeline
DESCRIPTION:With a national shortage of more than 500\,000 cybersecurity unfilled jobs in the U.S.\, several San Diego partners including Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE)\, National Foundation for Autism Research (NFAR)\, San Diego Regional EDC\, and San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP) have joined forces to seed and diversify the talent pipeline for this critical industry through two key programs – CyberHire and NFAR Cyber. NFAR Cyber is specifically designed to train San Diegans with autism to work in entry-level cybersecurity roles; a field to which many with autism are well suited\, and exactly the type of workforce development program needed both regionally and nationally. CyberHire is a program designed to address the growing demand for cybersecurity talent and connect job seekers to secure meaningful careers\, particularly in under-represented communities. This session will delve into these successful programs and highlight “out-of-the-box” ideas to address the workforce gap in neurodiverse and under-served communities. \nPresenters: \nMadison Dingsdale\, Program Specialist\, San Diego Workforce Partnership \nJuan Leon\, Founder and Board President\, National Foundation for Autism Research

For example\, they must manage a range of diagnostic tools across multiple software platforms while remaining vigilant for hard-to-detect events that could prove to be signals of phishing or hacking attempts from adversaries. Further diagnosis is often even more difficult for personnel in expeditionary environments with physical limitations on bandwidth\, energy\, and processing power. \n\nChallenge\nDevelop concepts\, technologies\, or systems to improve the ability of personnel to visualize\, monitor\, and respond to cybersecurity events. \n\nFocus Areas\nHardware\n\nHow could Artificial Reality/Virtual Reality technologies help visualize cybersecurity operations?\nWhat other kinds of interfaces could help control and manage cyber-security operations?\nAre there commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies that could enhance the user experience?\nHow could this technology be designed to work in a field scenario?\n\nSoftware and Data\n\nHow would you fuse and visualize large data sets\, especially those focused on cyber operations?\nAre there data visualizations tools that can improve the ability of cyber analysts to track and monitor threats in real-time?\nWould a HUD or gaming interface present the data in a functional/usable configuration?\nHow do you gamify the analysis of large data sets? How do you showcase and activate cyber defensive actions?\nAre there gamification technologies to increase cybersecurity professionals’ focus on key signals? What cues could tell a red\, blue\, or purple operator that they are seeing/experiencing something important or critical?\n\n\nREGISTER\n\n\n\nNSIN Presents: “Reality Bytes” Hackathon Signup\n\nPlease fill out this form to register for the “Reality Bytes” NSIN Hacks event. Join us May 9 -25\, 2022\, as innovators work to develop concepts\, technologies\, or systems to improve the ability of personnel to visualize\, monitor\, and respond to cybersecurity events. \nRegistration will close on May 9\, 2022. \nTotal Prize Pot of $70\,000\, with a track for start-ups and a track for students. SUMMARY:CMTC & Tech San Diego Webinar: Roadmap to Becoming a Premium Supplier
DESCRIPTION:Quality 501: Roadmap to Becoming a Premium Supplier Webinar \nGuidance for California Manufacturers \nIt’s safe to say that reduced product quality can have a significant impact on a manufacturer’s reputation and bottom line\, so quality is always top of mind both for suppliers and customers across industries. But what is it that can give small and medium-sized manufacturers an extra push to become a “top” or “premium” supplier to their customers? \nDuring this webinar\, CMTC Quality Practice Lead Eliot Dratch will discuss the key points that larger customers typically demand from their lower-tier suppliers before advancing their status to “Top” or “Premium” Supplier. This approach is applicable to most industries\, including aerospace\, consumer products\, medical\, apparel\, food\, and more. \nThis webinar is part of CMTC’s 2022 webinar series focusing on advanced quality planning topics as they pertain to manufacturers. You are encouraged to join as many of the webinars in this series as you would like.
